First, a few facts about St. Clair Research

St. Clair Research is a not-for-profit group of folks who are interested in furthering our study of genealogy by making use of DNA testing. This is a global project to test members of the Clan Sinclair everywhere. w

The project is run by Steve St. Clair of New Jersey, Stan St. Clair of Tennessee and Iain Laird of Scotland.

This project has been created and run with a great deal of effort as a result of our interest in the clan. It is entirely voluntary for all managers of the project. No one involved makes any money.

We do it because we are proud members of Clan Sinclair and want to further the goals of the clan. We are not affiliated in any business sense with Family Tree DNA. We use them as our testing lab. They give our members a discounted rate for testing with them. After careful consideration of several labs, they proved to be the most thorough to us. And consistency of testing method is critical to the success of any DNA project.

You DO however pay Family Tree DNA to test your mouth scraping kit and results. They are a laboratory based in Houston Texas. The are a for-profit company. Their costs are fair and compare favorably with other testing labs. They're also have the largest participation by far of any lab in the world, so your results are compared apples-to-apples with more people worldwide.

Let me make one more thing very clear. If you follow our Application to Join at left, I will send you a link that will get you into the St. Clair discount ordering page at Family Tree DNA. If you go into our page on their site and then order, you'll get a $60 discount on the 25-marker test. Follow the "Application to Join" link at left to understand this even more.

TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROJECT YOU MUST COMPLETE AT LEAST
THE 25-MARKER TEST.
